Key Member Guide
This guide is a summary of the rules using the space and contains some practical instructions.
Applying for Key Membership
If you are not yet a member, fill out the membership application. If you are already a member, tick the box “I am already a member, I want to change my membership class.”
We ask that members applying for a key first introduce themselves to the board; once that’s done, your key can be activated. You can introduce yourself during our open-door club evenings.
When your key is activated, you’ll gain access to the electronic locking system. If you cannot or prefer not to use it, you can request phone-call opening instead.
General Use of the Space
Key members have the right to access the club space 24/7, unless the board has explicitly prohibited its use. You must still follow all the rules that apply to regular members, including respecting the quiet hours from 23:00 to 07:00.
Outside of club evenings, key members decide who may stay in the space. No one is guaranteed entry — even members can be refused. Key members may also ask non-key members to leave, which is especially important if you are the last person exiting the space.
Arrival

With your member key you can only open the main door—arrive at the front of Building O. The doors remain unlocked for 30 seconds after you initiate an open request.
After entering, you have one minute to register your presence. Go to the club room and set the presence switch to “present.”
If you want to officially start a club evening or let people in, set the switch to “open.” You may toggle between “present” and “open” as needed.
Departure
When you’re the last person leaving, follow section 12 of the space rules:
- Turn off all lights in the club space and corridor
- Switch off power
- Close blinds and windows
- Turn off all kitchen appliances except refrigeration units
- Ensure everything looks as it should and that everyone has left
Finally, set the presence switch to “off” and exit within one minute!
If you accidentally leave or forget something inside, simply start over—initiate a remote opening and set the presence switch back to “present,” even if you’re still inside.
Remote Opening
Remote opening means letting someone in via the electronic system. Use it with care.
If keyless people remain inside, the last key member to leave is responsible for them. Likewise, you’re responsible for anyone you let in remotely. If other key members are already inside when you open the door remotely, they have the primary say in who may stay or enter.
Valid reasons to remote-open include allowing a delivery courier to drop off a package—you should only open if you’re expecting one. You might also use it to let in someone you know in advance if you’re running late.
Couriers typically leave within 30 seconds of entry, so simply opening the door is sufficient. If someone stays inside, instruct them to set the presence switch to “present” immediately upon entry.
Emergency Situations
If there’s a disturbance you can’t resolve by talking or if a crime occurs, always call emergency services at 112 first. Only contact the space manager after the immediate danger has passed.
A wall phone in the club room is available for urgent calls.
