Hacklab Jyväskylä ry is a hackerspace (or makerspace), which is a community-operated workspace where people can socialise and work on projects of various kinds. Our space is located in Kortepohja, Jyväskylä. We are a non-profit registered association established 2011 and a part of the Finnish Hacklab network.

Hacker culture (not to be confused with security hacking) is all about creativity and fun. In an age where technology is all around us, it is empowering and fun to learn how it works and play with it on your own terms. Computer technology is one of Hacklab’s core areas of interest, but it is not the only thing we do. We have a broad selection of tools and materials available so that our members can work with whatever medium they choose. People also have different motivations and goals: Some of us are more focused on solving practical problems, some of us want to learn new skills, some of us want to pursue their creative inclinations and some of us just want to have fun!
